What are we calling "the easy stuff"? I check fluids, replace fuses and bulbs, air filters and usually wash the car myself. But I don't really have the space to do things like oil changes.

I'll check the fluids and change the air filter or bulbs. For oil changes, it doesn't pay to even try to do it myself. Kinda like Costco chicken.

Filters, bulbs, brakes, radios, side view mirrors, etc - yes. Troubleshooting engine error codes? Not usually...

I agree with previous posters, what do you consider the "easy stuff"? I top off fluids, check the air in the tires, replaces bulbs as I can, because one vehicle we had, to replace the turn signal the book recommended taking it to the dealer, as they needed to remove the dang fender to do it.
I do all I feel comfortable doing.

Dpends on your definition of "easy". I do top off the fluids and change filters. I bring my vehicles in for oil changes.

I will change the oil and maybe do a tuneup. Anything else I leave to the professionals. They are far more familiiar with today's technology than I am.
