If you could have any car in the world (i.e. no limit on the price), what car would you want? I'm curious how other people feel about this question, since for most of my life it always stumped me when people would ask me this.

As for me, it wasn't until recently that I actually had an answer to this question, which I guess makes sense since this car didn't exist until recently. My dream car is the new Porsche Panamera Diesel. It packs a 250hp 3.0-liter V6 that can do 0-60 in under 6.8 seconds. That might not sound like a huge deal by Porsche standards, but when you consider it has more torque than a HEMI V8, then add in an eight-speed transmission and arguably the greatest stock audio system on the market it starts to look interesting. Cap it off with a mpg rating of 29city/42hwy, and it's downright ridiculous. If only it was about $100,000 cheaper... and available in America.

This is a tough one because their are so many great cars out there.
1.Ford GT Only 4000 made and very fast and very cool.
OR
2. E36 BMW M3 GTR Only 2 were made street legal and they have great handling.

If I could afford either one I wouldn't care about gas prices.

RalphHightower,
I've toured by the Nat'l Corvette Museum and the Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, and they are definately worth doing. If you do the tour where you watch your car being made, it culminates with you getting to perform the first ever engine start up on a just finished Corvette- an event celebrated by honking the horn to announce to the world that another Corvette has been born.

And if you do the Museum Delivery package, you can actually "virtually" bring your friends and family along, as the experience is shown on a page at the NCM's website, as a live-streaming webcast to anyone you want to give the web-page address to. Very cool!

I'd strap on a Lamborghini and get a speeding ticket the same day. I wouldn't want a ticket but I'd get one.

Right now...1958 Chevrolet three-row wagon, stovebolt six, three-on-the-tree with selectible overdrive, painted ivory white and gypsy red, running manual brakes, manual steering, and black steelie wheels with chrome lugs and trim rings. Mmmm.

Money no option, you say? Well, I am completely in love with the looks of the Aston Martin DB-9. And it has a nice, powerful V-12 engine. I'll have one in black, please.

Resurrecting this thread because I think I have to change my dream car now that BMW has released the M550d, a diesel-powered "compromise" between the standard 5 series and the M5 (perhaps it's fitting that the previous post mentioned the M5). It's powered by a tri-turbo 3.0L straight-6 and makes:

376 hp
546 lb-ft
0-60 in 4.7 sec.
MPG: 33 city/40 highway

If only America had better appreciation for diesel maybe we would actually see awesome things like this on the market here.

Something about Ford festiva's (Not the new fiestas) always intrigued me...I always wanted one, I like the way they look and I see so few of them around. Plus they get great fuel economy (for how old they are). :P

I honestly want everything so it's very hard for me to choose one vehicle. It also depends on if you're talking old or new. New: GMC Sierra Denali, Mustang GT convertible, Lincoln MKZ hybrid. Old: 1958 Edsel Citation, 1959 Chevrolet Impala convertible, 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL 4 door hardtop.

My dream car has changed over the years, and some of them I have owned. Currently my dream car is a solar powered electric vehicle that uses lithioum-ion batteries, has a decent acceleration, has a maximum speed of 70-80 mph and a range of 400 miles.
