It is a shame.. The topic of airport security is very alive but it's too bad we need to slam everyone we don't agree with. I didn't think this was going to get to racist comments but I guess I should have payed more attention to the opening message.. How bout light all the ex-salesmen up?

Saleen, you can't have a reasonable conversation with someone who is not reasonable-- Like someone who advocates tighter airport security while harbouring fantasies of sprinkling someone with gasoline and lighting it.
I'm sorry to dignify this hate-driven topic with a reply.

So I dont take your side so *IM* a moron? You going to badge me as a terrorist too?
NOT ALL terrorists are from Islam.
You stating we should sprinkle them with gas and lighting them on fire could very well be considered a hate crime, but that makes ME the moron. Huh.
I simply stated that the Oklahoma bombing was done by an American - not some one who was from Islam. But he is considered a terrorist by his own (American) government - so am I to consider ALL Americans as such? No.
You are exercising your constitutional right to free speech and thats ok, I do the same and Im a moron. Wow.
I find your comment "every wingnut Islamic terrorist" offensive. I find your comment "Sprinkle them all with gasoline and make them all the New olympic flame." offensive - and I bet the Olympic Committee would as well.
But that makes ME the moron. Unbelievable.
Would you be making those comments if your neighbor was Islamic? Or maybe a member of your family took up the Islam faith?
Not all terrorist are Islamic.
I also find your comment "...where is your airport,is it in "DOGPATCH"..." offensive. Not all airports (at least in Canada) are 'secure' airports. Mine isnt. Never had a problem at my airport.
But Im the moron.

Not all airports have security. Not all airports NEED security. Most comments I hear considering security that its gone too far already - that we dont need more.
Your comments is pretty close to what authorities might consider as 'hate crime'.

OilHo hit it on the head - the terrorists have already won.
Because of the 'terrorist threat' we are expected to give up our rights and liberties. Not me. I wont let those *$@! win. The bs we have to go thru now is pure bs.
Yeah I get it ewmac, you dont like Al Qaeda and the Taliban but one of your comments is offensive.
I'm a photographer, and not a day goes by that I dont read about a photographer (professional or a tourist) has his/her rights taken away due to a misguided cop due to 'terrorist threat'. 99% of the time the cop is in the wrong but the photographer has his rights taken away.
THe terrorists are here to stay, they've already won, lets move on.
Oh, I work at an airport - it has zero security and not one passenger has had an issue with that.

its all ridiculously expensive window dressing... while they~re scanning your granny MacDuff from Chippewa, there something like only a 10% scanning of the luggage going on board in the hold..
and as far as I understand, equally littls scanning of commercial cargo.
its a joke, and we paying big dough to prevent us bringing bottled water on board, and your nail clippers
god forbid you should have a stapler !! the mounties, quaking with fear in their boots, would electrocute you into a coma then jump on your back and neck until dead.

100%...safe and sound thank you. I'm with you on the need although unfortunate. I'd rather be delayed a little 'cos like I said 'the alternative is pretty final.'
While waiting for a flight out of T.O. a few years ago we were told that there would be a slight delay because the caterers had put the wrong food on plane and would have to remede problem, fine. I looked out the window and could see fire trucks and RCMP vehicles around plane. In about twenty minutes we boarded plane, myself feeling releaved that the proper people had ensured a safe flight without scaring passengers.

Just got back from Cuba last night and didn't really notice any difference in security although I heard T.O. airport plans on jacking up airport tax slightly to pay for new machines, jack up Timmie McRottens and others rent to cover cost, we already pay too much for shitty service/ attitude.

I agree, unfortunately the terrorists win with airport security and every thing else they have caused to be changed but the alternative is pretty final.

When you think about it. There is a more of a chance of dieing on the way to the airport, on the HWY. Yet, you are willing to give up all your rights. Sounds like the terrorists are winning to me.

Lots of people really fell down on the job in regard to the underpants bomber. Some of them really should be penalized, probably should be sacked.
meanwhile, do you believe the claim of "repentance" by the leader of the toronto 18?

I read a good article in maclean's today about how we can't just rely on scanning and screening to find things -- we have to take a look at the people. I can have a boxcutter and be perfectly safe flying on a plane; someone else isn't. So it's not about the thing so much as who's bringing it and what they plan to do with it.
