I have noticed that Raceway stations that I travel past have the lights shut off that indicated what gas is at what price. For example they list 4 prices one over the other in a vertical layout. On the left of the prices is the list of whether it is Regular, Midgrade, Premium, or Diesel. Also, whether it is cash or credit is on the left side of the prices. The prices are lit up but the left side of the sign is dark.

This I have noticed from Middlesex county to Ocean county.

What is needed is THREE radio check-boxes on the price-reporting tool. One is for cash. One is for credit (and debit) cards. The other refers to the main sign out front.

Many reports are only from the sign out front. Most stations put the cash price on the sign, when the prices are different. But some actually put the credit price out front. (Murphy [Wal-Mart] does this.)

Your servers will quickly learn, just from reported prices, what price the big sign represents. And you will be able to enter the price correctly in your database.

This is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED for the GasBuddy reporting app and web site to remain useful. We need to know what price it is. Some people only pay by credit card. Some people would pay by cash, if that was the only opportunity to receive a lower price. In my area, you don't have to use cash; the stations with the lowest prices have the same price for cash and credit. But that is not true in all areas.

The GasBuddy app needs to be updated with this ability ASAP. Either that, or be overtaken by another app/database which will do it before you.

You'ld better get to work and do it, or lose your business opportunity.

Go online and read your state laws about what stations must do. In CA, there is no state law that says that a price sign must be lighted. However there is a law that says that a lighted price sign must be evenly lit. Go figure. Also check your county/city statutes. If you can quote them the law, they are more likely to get it fixed. Or, if in CA, turn it off entirely.

I am wondering if the cash credit discounts are not bringing the benefit they used to or thought they would and now are trying to catch unaware credit card users.
The higher the prices go, the more likely my cash back 5% will beat their cash discount.

I avoid dual pricing and cash only stations as they usually are more expensive than using my CB CC at the next "highest" station that takes credit.
