If your are driving 90 kph in a posted 55 mph zone, you might find a patrolman somewhere that was looking for someone to make an example of and pull you over for driving over the speed limit . No matter how fast you drive, always drive as safely as possible and never forget to keep your eye on the road ahead and to the side and NEVER forget what your rear view mirror is for. It isn't there to check your makeup or to see if you have something stuck on a tooth . Just always be aware of what is going on around you at all times and you should be just fine. Good luck . HA everyone sits around, cars running, listening to the stereos or playing with themselves or whatever they do for 5 or 10 minutes after they park. 99% of this society is lazy and they don't even know it. people get what they deserve, and others pay for it, the story of our country.

If your orange juice, carrots or car parts must travel across the country to the table or repair shop at 55mph/90kph, that extra delay in transportation will cost. The deliveries of goods to our places of business will require more time.

You seem to contradict yourself saying 55MPH saved you gas... Yet you are suggesting that driving at 70MPH actually INCREASES your MPG readings... You can't have it both ways... It's a given rule of thumb that the FASTER you travel the more drag/resistance your vehicle must WASTE energy to counteract... So while you may have a higher speed at which your vehicle(s) may go before the MPG start dropping off drastically I don't see how you are getting so much better results... Unless your 55 and 70 MPH/MPG readings are on totally different roads/conditions. Comparing say a "local" highway at 55MPH and say the interstate at 70MPH might provide enough variables (start and stop traffic and flow) to show the different MPG readings. I've driven say 4 hours on highway with cruise at around 60-65MPH (virtually non-stop) and gotten a very high 33MPG or so which I almost NEVER get under other conditions. So your specific results might require some more averaging under "normal" conditions to support the "faster is better" results you've gotten.

I get the best mileage when driving my 1998 Ford Escort between NY and VA, I get the best mileage when driving around 70 MPH. I can get up to 31 MPH and at 55 I get only 28 MPH. This is also true with my 1999 Ford Crown Vic. I can get 25-26 MPH at 70 while only getting 21-22 at 55 MPH, and similar findings with 2005 Ford Expedition and 1988 Ford Van. I haven't found anyone who drives a lot of long distances getting better mileage at lower speeds.
