with the emerging battery recycling technology the vast majority of the future production of batteries will likely consist of a considerable portion of reclaimed materials.....

which will help keep battery prices moving downward...

Good for south America. But that will probably push prices higher for the rest of us.

Disposal of these batteries will be the next ecological issue. Gotta be a better solution.

Prices will drop as substitutes and innovation occur.

Actually with the rare earth's being controlled by less than friendly 'neighbors' you could reach 43 billion without increasing production. Next thing you know speculators will be driving the price up there too.

Lithium has already tripled and will quadruple in a decade. Government mandated rationing of alternative gasoline vehicles will see to that (is called CAFE standards)

Not going to happen. Soon, everybody who wanted an electric car will have one. EV's are doomed to be fringe sales at best. Advanced internal combustion engines and looming cheaper gasoline and CNG/LNG will kill the EV/Hybrid market even more. Cheap and simple always wins. The Obama taxpayer giveaway for EV's will also be soon gone. Sorry, greenies - stick a fork in your Leaf.
