Therefore, this refinery "accident" comes at a very opportune time to rake in extra funds needed to pay stiff penalties to countries actually ready and willing to punish them severely instead of giving them little slaps on the wrist like our government does almost every time, and usually only after the public protests lack of necessary government reaction? How many rivers, streams, lakes, sources of drinking water, etc does big oil have to contaminate with their oil before our government ever decide to give them an attitude adjustment? Gas prices are already way too high on the west coast, but our rich, spoiled politicians in Washington don't really care enough about this fact to even mention this in the press or to the public. Republicans AND democrats, Obama, you included. When is our corrupt government going to punish big oil severely for every pipeline leak, pipeline rupture, refinery fire, refinery explosion, refinery malfunction, etc, that was caused due to gross neglect so this garbage does not keep happening multiple times every single year over the past several years? These "accidents" happened more often since the Bush commodity trading deregulation than before that. How many times have we had pipeline and refinery "disasters" JUST THIS YEAR???? Geez.
