Duffer,
Earlier this year Tulsa Union came up to Ohio and beat Mckinley (Canton) 31-0 in the Herbstreit challenge. I was just curious how good is Mckinley this year or typially is in the past? I havent found them in the national rankings (doesnt mean they aren't). I just like to see how other state high schools do against the other.

I know that some high schools schedule these long distance away games a year or 2 in advance and then everyone graduates so its hard to tell who will be top ranked in two years. The two big schools around here that schedule non state opponents are Jenks and Union. Union does it more than Jenks does.

I believe that's quite true, although I don't have any hard facts to support this. Football is big in the Ohio-Michigan-Pennsylvania area, just as it is in Texas or Florida.

I always remember Ohio being a big football state, they're like the Texas of the Midwest when it comes to high-school ball.

I wonder how many players there are on NFL rosters who played their HS years in Ohio.

I would guess a pretty significant number.

One local team left in the playoffs as Patrick Henry looks to win their second state title in the last three years. They are in one of the smaller divisions and play in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League, a league of schools with three teams having won state titles in the last 20 years, and a total of 6 finals appearances, and numerous regional final appearances. Boys around here now how to play some ball.
