After many years the canadian courts have ruled that the Toronto transit employees who park at work in the lot are recieving a taxable benefit. What a surprise. I retired in 95 and up to then i had to pay for my at work parking. Was a tax deduction since work related. However the TTC employee appear angry at this most logical ruling.Now if this policy of tax revenue raising can be extended to the many thousands of teachers and pupils who also have so called free parking it would help out the ordinary taxpayer who does not recieve those perks.Revenue raised could be directed into the school system etc.
