LOL, tea. Do you ever read the side effects of prescription drugs?
They'll be putting out a printed warning label on 'hopium' soon!

BIG OIL & GAS love us
If you can smell it? Then you are inhaling it into your body.
FYI - Crude Oil and Your Health - Crude oil contains highly toxic chemicals ... :
Exposure to crude oil in the air can cause difficulty breathing, headaches, dizziness, nausea, and confusion. Even brief exposure can cause health problems for people with asthma, COPD, and other respiratory problems.
Direct contact with contaminated water can cause skin damage.
Delayed effects of crude oil exposure can include liver, kidney, respiratory, reproductive, blood, immune system and nervous system damage, cancer and birth defects. The occurrence and nature of harm will depend on exposure and individual factors, but some people are more susceptible ....
BIG OIL & GAS love us

The company needs to pay for the cleanup without passing on the costs to the consumer.

At $110/barrel that's over $17 million the refiner needs to recoup at the pump before adding clean up costs

From article- "DEP spokesman Lawrence Hanja said the Paulsboro Refining Company and its parent company, PBF Energy, are responsible for the cleanup."
Also, good to see the spill was contained as the containment berms performed as intended. They will be able to pump the oil into other storage facilities on site. Rain or no rain the oil should still be able to be refined. No health risk and nobody hurt are both good news.

"...no serious health risk from the odor..." Oh, I'm sure that's of little comfort to those gagging on those noxious fumes.
Thanks, Joeski1, for the article and common-sense posts.

I also want to comment that it rained fairly heavy last night and this morning and this 'containment area' is an open air containment area...
any oil in this area has mixed with rainwater from last nights and todays rains....

It seems any excuse will do for the price of gas to go up these days. Maybe this spill in NJ explains why the price in the SF Bay Area went up 12 cents today after going up at least 15 cents less than a week ago. Crooks!!

I also note complaints of headaches in the comments section on the page of this article...
west deptford is about 6 miles away and I had a pounding headache as well since last night and can smell a unusually fowl odor in our area as well...

wanted to give a better view of the amount of waste and the fact that the ultimate cost of cleanup is passed onto consumers as 'business as usual'
