Gas falls again: 45 cents below high
Thursday, August 28, 2008
CNN Money -- NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Gas prices continued their slide, falling 11% from highs reached in July, according to a national survey of gas station credit card swipes released Thursday.

Gas was selling at $3.660 a gallon, a decrease of seven tenths of a cent from the previous day's price of $3.667, according to motorist group AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Thursday's decline is the fifth consecutive day that retail gas prices have fallen.

Prices have fallen more than 45.4 cents since hitting a record of $4.114 on July 17, AAA reported.

Instead of reporting ups/downs of retail gas prices; report the ups/downs of the profit margins of each segement of the oil service/distribution chain!

Oooh 7/10 of a cent. That means nothing to me. I agree with everyone below who said theirs went up for the weekend. No doubt. A big "travel" weekend. I am going to "travel" to the supermarket and get brats and ribs.

Every week it's the same... gas goes up on Thursday morning... it never fails. Even if the barrel goes down in price, our gas prices go up for the weekend.

Not here! It's up 8 cents a gallon from yesterday. Last chance to rip us off this summer. How predictable. They gotta get more creative with their BS reasons.

I tend to agree with Bruno44. Prices are down the huge amount of 1/3of a penny here after the $2+ drop yesterday.

CNN must have forgotten Labor Day Weekend is one of the times that almost all stations everywhere raise their prices to gouge the consumer. And they will use any excuse such as a "possible" hurricane, and even congress passing gas in the wind after a bean dip holiday.
